Anita Stineman, PhD, RN, associate professor at UI’s College of Nursing, was announced as the winner of the college’s 2011-2012 Collegiate Teaching Award. She was presented with the award—which represents the highest honor the college can bestow upon its faculty for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching—during the college’s annual spring celebration, which was held at UI’s University Club.

Assistant Professor Martha Driessnack and Janet Williams, Kelting Professor of Nursing, are doing their part to help increase the awareness of Huntington’s Disease (HD).

The duo was recently profiled in the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s (HDSA) “Faces of HD” campaign – an annual initiative correlated with HD Awareness Month (May).

Both Driessnack and Williams contributed to this HDSA campaign by sharing their involvement with HD-related research as well as their experiences with families affected by HD.

Mary Berg, DNP, RN, ARNP, Associate Professor at the University of Iowa College of Nursing was recently named Nurse Practitioner of the Year by the Iowa Association of Nurse Practitioners (IANP).

This award is presented each year at the Spring Nurse Practitioner Conference to one IANP member who has made “substantial contributions to IANP and to their profession.”
