Clinical Focus:

My clinical practice is in emergency care, providing health care services in a rural emergency department.  Special areas of interest include asthma management, diabetes, wound care, infectious diseases and congestive heart failure.  I also manage a patient assistance program that assists patients in receiving medications that do not have prescription drug insurance.  Currently, I am researching the feasibility of urgent care centers within rural hospitals as a method to provide access to health care and decrease unnecessary emergency department visits.
