Research Focus:
My research interest is on mental health of older adults. My dissertation will examine the relationships of perceived stigma and Quality of Life outcomes among family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease.
Faculty Affiliations/Clinical Research:
I am currently a research assistant for Dr. Kathleen Buckwalter on two different research grants.
The Geropsychiatric Nursing Collaborative study focuses on two main areas: inclusion of core geropsychiatric nursing competencies at all levels of nursing education, and development and dissemination of geropsychiatric nursing curriculum content for implementation in basic, graduate and continuing educational programs.
The Understanding Perceived Stigma in Persons with Dementia study's purpose is to explore the impact of perceived stigma on persons with Alzheimer's disease and their family caregivers.
