Research Focus:

My research focus is on leadership in long-term care and the role of the Director of Nursing (DON).  My program of research will begin by linking resident quality outcomes to tenure of the DON.  I will eventually develop interventions that improve the stability of this critical role thereby improving quality outcomes for residents.

Current Faculty/Research Affiliations:

Currently a Research Assistant on two different R01 grants. 

 

The first study “Nursing Empowerment: Promoting Evidence-based Practice Adoption in Long Term Care, M-TRAIN” (research advisors: PI: Dr. Janet Specht and Co-PI: Dr. Paula Mobily), is focused on improving nursing home practices concerning pain management and urinary incontinence.  

 

The second study “Cancer Pain in Elders: Promoting Evidence-Based Practices in Hospices”, NCI R01CA115363 (research advisors: PI: Dr. Keela Herr and Co-PI: Dr. Marita Titler), is focused on implementing evidence-based practices concerning pain management in community dwelling elders enrolled in hospice.
