Office of Nursing Research

The UI College of Nursing has a sustained track record of significant nursing science, producing baccalaureate nurse graduates who think critically and act humanely, offering masters degree programs that foster professional growth, and creating a new generation of scientists through doctoral and post-doctoral education.

Located on a Big 10 research campus, the College of Nursing has access to an enviable array of resources including the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences; collaboration with clinical partners at UI Hospitals and Clinics, the first Magnet-designated, and only tertiary hospital in Iowa; and interdisciplinary research and teaching opportunities across the health and social sciences, just to name a few.

External funding is robust, as grant funding topped $3.8 million in fiscal 2004. That funding allows us to turn ideas into innovations that advance the nursing profession. We are committed to evidence-based practice and translational research and moving our research findings from theory and science into care delivery, resulting in improved health outcomes.
