Ms. Abrams has been a nurse for more than 40 years and held positions as staff nurse, nurse educator, nurse manager, nurse executive and administrator.  She is currently serving as adjunct lecturer at the University of Iowa, College of Nursing and adjunct faculty with Creative Health Care Management, Minneapolis, MN.  

In her most recent position she served as Executive Vice President/COO of St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City, MO a member of the SSM system.  During her tenure there the organization was recognized as Number one in the state of Missouri for quality performance on the CMS Core measures and as one of the top 10 hospitals in the nation by the Commonwealth Fund for these same metrics.  This was a position she held for 3 years and served as on site project lead for  the planning of a greenfield hospital project while also overseeing all hospital operations.

Ms. Abrams was recognized by Quorum Health Resources as the Outstanding Nurse Executive in 1999 and by the Iowa Organization of Nurse Executive’s as their Outstanding Nurse Executive in 2008.
