10th Institute on Nursing Informatics and Classification

The Center for Nursing Classification & Clinical Effectiveness at the University of Iowa, College of Nursing will host the 10th Institute on Nursing Informatics and Classification on June 13-14, 2013. This conference will focus on nursing informatics and use of standardized language in clinical practice, research, and educational settings. Please consider submitting an abstract for an oral or poster presentation.

Featured at this conference will be updates and discussion about Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC). The 6th edition of NIC is due out November 1, 2012. This edition contains 554 interventions and includes 23 new interventions. The 5th edition of NOC is due out November 20, 2012. This edition contains 490 outcomes and includes 107 new outcomes. A new class to the taxonomy was added that focuses on self-management of acute and chronic health conditions.
