Dr. Kathleen “Kitty” Buckwalter (BSN ’71, MA ’76) has been selected to receive the University of Iowa’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

Professor Emeritus Buckwalter, along with other recipients, will be recognized for this accomplishment at the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Awards luncheon and ceremony on June 9, 2012. This award is the Alumni Association’s highest honor.

Dr. Buckwalter, who has been with the college for more than 30 years, is an invaluable pioneer in the field of geriatric nursing. A great deal of her highly acclaimed research has focused on improving mental health services for the elderly.
