Etta Rasnussen, Former Interim DeanFormer Interim Dean, Etta Rasmussen, Passes Away at 100

Although Etta H. Rasmussen retired from the UI College of Nursing in 1981, her profound impact on the college is still felt to this very day. She believed that a higher level of professionalism could only be achieved when nursing education became integrated into institutions of higher learning—a path that requires nurses and nurse educators to achieve advanced degrees with areas of specialization and research skills. Etta’s legacy is that she was on the forefront of shaping the college’s academic respectability that we possess today.
