Karin Zuehls, MS, RN

Karin S. Zuehls, M.S., R.N., is the Regional Faculty Coordinator for the Central Iowa Region of The University of Iowa College of Nursing RN-BSN program. She received her nursing diploma from Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her Baccalaureate in Nursing is from Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota.  Her Master of Science degree with a major in Nursing Education is from Texas Woman's University, Denton, Texas.

Prior to her current appointment, she served as the Acting Administrator and the Communicable Disease Control Coordinator for the Bureau County Health Department, Illinois Department of Public Health.  Prior to her work in Illinois, she served as a Lecturer for The University of Iowa College of Nursing and as an Assistant Professor in Nursing in the private college setting in Iowa and North Dakota. She has taught concepts of leadership/management, medical-surgical nursing, fundamentals of nursing, community health nursing, nursing theory and nursing research. Before entering the arena of nursing education, she worked in a variety of nursing positions in the tertiary care setting, in camp nursing, in school nursing, and in the acute care setting.

Ms. Zuehls is a member of the American Nurses' Association and the Iowa Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing and the Iowa League for Nursing, and the Iowa Public Health Association.  She is a member of Gamma Chapter and a charter member of Zeta Chi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.
