Deborah P. Schoenfelder, PhD, RN

Dr. Schoenfelder's areas of teaching and clinical interests are health promotion for older adults, especially falls prevention for elders. She currently teaches the undergraduate courses Perspectives on Health Care Systems and Gerontological Nursing Practicum. Dr. Schoenfelder has worked with large research teams, such as the Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) group, with which she has studied caregiver outcomes, and the Nursing Diagnosis Extension Classification (NDEC) group, with which she developed diagnoses related to caregivers and to trauma/injury. Dr. Schoenfelder has also presented several community workshops on falls prevention.
