Judith Collins, MA, RN, ARNP, CS
Judy has been on the faculty of The University of Iowa College of Nursing since 2000. She received both her BSN and MA from the College. Through the years she has been an adjunct faculty member with participation as a preceptor for graduate students as well as a member of various research teams. She has been very involved in the development of standardized languages through NDEC, NIC, and NOC teams. As a clinical instructor in pre-liscensure education for the BSN and MNHP programs, Judy has applied her years of community mental health experience in psychiatric mental health and community health nursing.
Judy has had extensive experience within the hospital setting as well in the position of Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Clinical Nurse Specialist. She currently continues her own clinical private practice as an ARNP in Davenport. Judy holds ANCC certification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and has been involved in nursing leadership and patient advocacy through the Iowa Nurses’ Association/American Nurses Association where she was president for 4 years. She is a faculty consultant for the Iowa Association of Nursing Students. She also holds membership in the International Society for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurses (ISPN), the American Association of Psychiatric Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau and NANDA.
