Toni Clow, MA, RN, CPNP, ARNP
Toni Clow has been a nurse educator for many years and served as Nursing Director of The University of Iowa Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program from 1976-1990. During those years, she served as Chair of the first task force of the Iowa Board of Nursing to draft rules and regulations for advanced practice in the PNP category. At the national level, she was the recipient of the Distinguished Fellow Award by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners (NAPNAP) for her professional service at the state and national level to advance child and adolescent health care.
Her research and publication at that time were directed toward interdisciplinary roles and interactions in advanced practice and education. In addition to primary health care activities, Toni taught undergraduate students management of child and adolescent acute and chronic illness in the inpatient tertiary care setting at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Currently, she continues teaching with colleagues in the nurse practitioner graduate program. Her primary focus recently in her role as Director of the Undergraduate Program has been to coordinate a smooth transition to a new BSN undergraduate curriculum.
