Research/Clinical Interests: 

Pat Nelson is Regional Coordinator for the University of Iowa RN-BSN Program in Northeast Iowa. She is a graduate of Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s degree in maternal/child health and nursing education from the University of Iowa.

Previous teaching experience at the University of Iowa College of Nursing includes principles and practice of psychomotor skills and clinical concepts related to health and wellness of the child and family. Areas of clinical experience include pediatric and maternal-newborn nursing.

Pat is interested in staying involved with professional nursing and health care issues. She is a member of Gamma Chapter Sigma Theta Tau and an active member of the Iowa Nurses' Association (INA) serving one term with the Iowa Nurses Foundation, and two terms as a member of the INA State Board of Directors. She served as President of District 10 in North Central Iowa for four years and continues to be active with regional INA activities. Pat also enjoys being involved in a variety of volunteer efforts to promote health and wellness in her community.
