Martha Driessnack is an Assistant Professor in the Parent, Child, & Family Area at the College of Nursing. Her BSN education is from The Ohio State University, her MSN and PNP education is from Yale University, and her PhD is from Oregon Health & Sciences University. She also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in clinical genetics at the University of Iowa.

Martha has more than 25 years of clinical experience working with children across many different sub-specialties and health care settings. Her program of research focuses on the development of child-directed, child-friendly approaches to interviewing children in both the research and clinical setting. This program is supported by her background in art therapy and includes the development of the ‘draw and tell conversation’ a method of integrating drawing into the interview process with children. Her current research focus is on what children know about genetics and how they come to know it.
