8th Institute on Nursing Informatics and Classification
June 9-11, 2008

The University of Iowa College of Nursing, Center for Nursing Classification & Clinical Effectiveness will host the 8th Institute on Nursing Informatics and Classification on June 9-11, 2008. The emphasis of this conference is on nursing informatics and use of standardized nursing languages in clinical and educational settings.

Objectives
Participants in the Institute for Nursing Informatics and Classification 2008 will be able to:

1.
Discuss the current state of NANDA, NIC and NOC as well as database development and issues related to these classifications in practice

2. Dialogue with developers and users of NIC and NOC

3. Discuss strategies for nursing documentation in the electronic health record

4. Discuss historical and current trends in informatics and electronic health records

5. Discuss use of clinical decision models with NANDA, NIC, and NOC
