Full tuition gerontology scholarship plus stipend for underrepresented minorities and men

The UI College of Nursing offers scholarships for full tuition plus a stipend for a limited number of qualified applicants to the Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) program. Individuals who are members of underrepresented groups in the nursing profession including ethnic minorities and men are strongly encouraged to apply.

Funding for the program is provided by the Creating Careers Scholarship Program sponsored by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the John A. Hartford Foundation.

Applications to the AGNP program are due by February 1 each year. Applications for the scholarship are due by February 15 each year.
To be eligible for the scholarship students must enroll full time, and cannot currently be enrolled in the AGNP program at the College of Nursing.

The AGNP program prepares nurse practitioners who will specialize in caring for adults and older adults, a particularly high demand specialization given the rising number of elder citizens in Iowa and across the country.

For more information about the AGNP program or the scholarship contact Jennifer Clougherty in the College of Nursing graduate program office, jennifer-clougherty@uiowa.edu or (319) 335-7021.
