Nursing Care of Older Adults: Diagnoses, Outcomes, & Interventions (St. Louis: Mosby, Inc., 2001) is a wide-ranging reference for nurses caring for older adults. Organized into 11 sections, each representing one of Gordon's Functional Health Patterns, this work focuses on relevant nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions for older persons. It thus complements the standard languages developed by the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) and the College of Nursing Nursing Outcomes Classification (NIC) and Nursing Interventions Classification (NOC).
Each section features a brief overview and material on normal aging as it relates to the chosen area. Individual chapters discuss specific diagnoses and selected outcomes and interventions. Case studies, tables and illustrations augment each chapter.
Nursing Care of Older Adults is edited by Meridean L.
