Anesthesia Students Published in AANA Journal

Eric Barrett and Jason Trotter, both February 2011 graduates of UI’s Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist (SRNA) program, were recently published by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).  

Barrett’s article, titled “Management of a Traumatic Tracheal Tear: A Case Report,” appeared in the December 2011 edition of AANA Journal.

Dr. Buckwalter to Receive Prestigious UI Award

Dr. Kathleen “Kitty” Buckwalter (BSN ’71, MA ’76) has been selected to receive the University of Iowa’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

Professor Emeritus Buckwalter, along with other recipients, will be recognized for this accomplishment at the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Awards luncheon and ceremony on June 9, 2012. This award is the Alumni Association’s highest honor.

Dr. Joann Eland Interviewed on IPR

Last week, UI College of Nursing Associate Professor Dr. Joann Eland was a guest on Iowa Public Radio’s (IPR) “Talk of Iowa” program.

During the interview, Dr. Eland was asked specifically about technology and the impact it has had on the nursing profession.
