Alumni Advisory Board
The purpose of the Dean's Advisory Board is to provide advice to the College of Nursing dean, faculty and staff in achieving our strategic plan and in the preparation of students to continue the tradition of the "Iowa Nurse."
To enhance the involvement of alumni in the College of Nursing, the Dean's Advisory Board serves as a source of information regarding the healthcare environment and potential challenges and opportunities for our programs.
Meetings
The Dean's Advisory Board meets twice a year; once during each semester for a full day. The Dean may call additional meetings, if warranted by accumulated items for the attention of the Board. Through conference calls and/or small work groups, members of the Board are also invited to provide advice and assistance to the College between these regularly scheduled meetings. The Director for External Relations serves as liaison to the Advisory Board members.
Board Membership
Members serve a three-year term and are eligible for reappointment. Nominations for Board membership are submitted in writing to the Dean who consults with the Board prior to making new appointments.
The Dean, Director of External Relations, and the University of Iowa Foundation Development Director for the College are ex-officio members and participate in all relevant activities and Board Meetings. Other administrative officials, faculty, staff and students are called upon periodically to interact with the Board.
