Listserve Instructions

An electronic mailing list called nursing-rn-bsn has been developed to facilitate quick communications regarding the RN-BSN program. This list can provide current information and updates regarding the program, course offerings, registration information, advising issues, program expectations and much more. Your participation as a list member is essential to ensure effective communication and receipt of information about the program.

Your participation is optional if you are not yet admitted to the program.  Admitted students MUST subscribe to the listserv and are responsible for the information provided there.

There are two ways to subscribe.

One way is through the Listserv link at http://cs.its.uiowa.edu/email/.  Click on "Listserv Mailing Lists."  Then, in the section for "List Subscribers," click on the item titled "Unlisted archive form."  Then just type in the name of the list:  nursing-rn-bsn and hit "submit."  From that page, you can then join (or leave) the list, access previous messages from the archives and post messages.

Alternately, you can subscribe by sending an email to the Listserv program.  Directions are below:

Do NOT capitalize any of the words, use any parentheses or quotation marks, underline, or use italics when typing the address or the word "subscribe". Remember to turn off your signature block if you have one. You should then send the message.

You will receive a message with the subject " Command confirmation request " stating that your request must be confirmed. You will have a choice of confirming your subscription request either by clicking on an enclosed web site link, or by e-mail. Whichever you choose, follow the detailed instructions provided.

When you have been added to the electronic mailing list, you will receive an email confirmation, explaining some of the commands you may find helpful. Save a copy of this message for future reference. After the original subscription is acknowledged, use the following address to communicate with the list serve: nursing-rn-bsn@list.uiowa.edu

Just a reminder, messages sent on the electronic mailing list go to all members. If you have personal information or questions not intended for all students and members, please remember to e-mail or reply to individuals directly.
