Honors Program
Pre-licensure and RN-BSN students who have achieved at least a 3.5 minimum nursing GPA and a 3.33 minimum UI GPA are invited to join the Honors Program in the College of Nursing after completion of their first semester in the College of Nursing.
Nursing's Honors Program features seminars and independent study experiences which provide the opportunity to explore subject matter based on individual interests, needs, and goals; promote self-initiative, intellectual and personal development; and challenge the student to grow and excel to the fullest potential.
To be eligible to graduate with honors in nursing the student must:
- complete two honors courses consisting of one honors seminar and one honors independent study,
- maintain a UI GPA of 3.33, and
- maintain a nursing GPA of 3.5 or higher each semester prior to being eligible for enrollment in an honors course the following semester, or a total nursing GPA of 3.5 or higher.
