BSN - Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Early Admission
Beginning in the Fall Semester of 1998, the College of Nursing admitted its first group of highly qualified first year students directly into the College. Although most students must wait for admission until they have satisfactorily completed a set of prerequisite courses, students in the Early Admission Program are admitted and enrolled in the College of Nursing at The University of Iowa upon acceptance of the admission offer from the University.
Early admission status will be offered to students who:
1. Have an Admission Index of 148 or higher (2 x ACT Composite + High School Percentile Rank = Admission Index) AND
2. Have no high school unit deficiencies (check for high school prerequisites here)
The benefits of the Early Admission program are:
Admission to the College of Nursing from day one of your first year at The University of Iowa.
Eligibility for a scholarship for first year nursing students and the opportunity to compete for regular scholarships in the College of Nursing during remaining years.
Application Deadline: Same as the established deadline for The University.
