PhD - Cognate Areas

The cognate component will provide for acquisition of essential knowledge and skills needed to understand and master a related field. A series of courses in a related field will provide for a broader scope of scholarship and a knowledge base that is interconnected with nursing. Study in a related field such as Epidemiology, Human Development, and Anthropology advance interdisciplinary relationships that not only enlarge insight into general and specialized knowledge but also could lead to collaborative research projects, seminars and field studies.
