Our basic Master’s degree can be tailored
to meet the needs of most students seeking
a higher degree of nursing practice.
The curriculum is divided into three areas:
• Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner or CNS
• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
• Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
Administrative/Clinical/Education
• Nursing Systems Administration
• Community Health Nursing
• Child Health Nursing
• Genetics Nursing
• Nursing Informatics
• Nurse Educator - Basic
• Nurse Educator, including Gerontological Nurse Educator
• Occupational Health Nursing
• MSN/MPH
• MSN/MBA
Minimum requirements for the master's degree in nursing vary from 33 - 61 semester hours, depending on the area of study. The basic program of study for the master's degree is the 33 semester hour Basic MSN. The program of study includes core and advanced core courses. Elective courses allow students to focus on a variety of areas of interest.
Students are also encouraged to consult with their advisor if they have career or educational goals not reflected in the programs of study. In most cases, students are able to formulate a plan of study to reflect their individual needs.
