MSN - Clinical Nurse Leader
Build on a prior degree in a non-nursing area to earn a Master of Science in Nursing degree without repeating previous core science courses. The Clinical Nurse Leader, or CNL, is a new nursing role being developed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

MSN
For those with a BSN degree who want to pursue further nursing expertise in areas such as Advanced Practice, Clinical/Administrative/Education, or dual degrees combining the MSN with either a master's in Business Administration (MBA), or a master's in Public Health (MPH).

PhD
Individuals interested in nursing research and nursing education typically pursue the PhD. Iowa offers an expedited BSN-PhD program.

DNP
Rather than a research doctorate, this degree emphasizes advanced clinical practice skills.
