Deadlines for application :
Fall - February 1
Spring - October 1
Summer - February 1.
Currently, very few courses are offered during the summer term. The majority of students should apply for fall or spring semesters.

MSN application requirements :
Students should apply to the MSN program through The University of Iowa Graduate College. Requirements for full-admission status include:
Completed Graduate College application form and fee
Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited program
Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Complete transcripts for work done in all undergraduate and graduate schools
Satisfactory Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores
Three professional recommendations (U Iowa recommendation forms required)
Applicant course completion form
Students admitted to the MSN program must show proof of the following before enrolling in course work :
Current license to practice professional nursing (RN) in Iowa or another country
An undergraduate research methods course before enrollment in Nursing Science & Inquiry (96:206)
An upper-level statistics course taken within five years prior to enrollment in Nursing Science & Inquiry (96:206)
Professional nurses liability insurance (annual verification required)
Health insurance (annual verification required)
Health screening
Basic genetics course prerequisite to genetics program
