Major Requirements
The following courses must be satisfactorily completed and a minimum of 32 semester hours earned toward the major. A minimum grade of C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) is required in each didactic course for successful completion. Students earning a grade lower than C may repeat didactic courses one time. Practicum/Clinical courses are graded on a satisfactory/fail (S/F) basis. A student may repeat only one clinical nursing course one time.
Plan of Study Options
There are two plans of study options for the nursing major. A full-time plan of study (3 semesters) and a part-time plan of study (5 semesters). Both plans begin in the Fall semester. There are 6 s/h of nursing electives incorporated into each plan of study. The nursing electives are the only courses in the nursing major that are flexible and can be taken in any semester (including Summer). The Professional Role courses are lock-step and must be taken in order beginning with Professional Role I. Faculty use a variety of educational technologies and the courses are essentially on line. Face-to-face meetings/events are typically practicum group meetings at the beginning and end of the semester and will be noted in the course syllabus.
