Rural Health Initiative

Initiated in November 2004, the Rural Hospital Initiative connects Directors of Nursing in Iowa's rural hospitals with nursing leaders at the UI College of Nursing. The goal is to identify the major health issues facing the rural communities and explore ways in which the College can aid and enhance the important work that takes place in hospitals serving our rural populations.

College of Nursing faculty and staff are a consistent resource to our colleagues who provide the vital leadership in the frontline public health institutions of Iowa. As the only state supported College of Nursing, we embrace our mandate to prepare and enhance the current and next generation of nursing leaders.
